With the situation in Iraq spinning out of control, the undeniable tragedies occurring in the Darfur region of Sudan and Osama bin Laden still taunting us on video, President Bush somehow sold the majority of voters on the importance of moral issues. The fact that so many voters cited moral issues as the deciding factor should tell us everything we need to know about the narrow-mindedness of the voting public.

When gay marriage becomes a bigger concern to American voters than genocide in the Sudan or increasing death tolls in Iraq, then Bush is correct. Our morals really are out of place, and they start with the president.
