Chris Taylor scored two goals and assisted on another as the Rochester Americans took advantage of early extended power plays to defeat the visiting Cleveland Barons, 4-1, in the American Hockey League on Sunday.
Taylor helped set up Derek Roy's power-play goal at 17:31 of the first period, then scored another power-play goal 29 seconds later.
The goals came during a five-on-three advantage, with Cleveland's Riley Armstrong and Garrett Stafford serving majors for high sticking.
Taylor's breakaway goal at 3:04 of the second period, seconds after he exited the penalty box, pushed the lead to 3-0. Michael Ryan scored on a rebound 47 seconds later.
Rochester goalie Tom Askey lost his shutout bid at 12:44 of the second period when Pat Rissmiller scored off a Ryan Clowe pass. Askey stopped 21 shots for Rochester (4-4-2-1).
