A 22-year-old Rochester man who attempted to run most of the way around Ralph Wilson Stadium on top of the luxury boxes during Sunday's Bills-Jets game fell down into the lower bowl and was arrested later on three misdemeanor charges, authorities said today.
John R. Lemmon ran almost the length of the sideline on the visitors' side of the field before a security officer tried to apprehend him.
He evaded the security officer and fell down into the lower bowl -- his fall cushioned by several fans.
Law-enforcement officials charged Lemmon with reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and criminal trespass. He was not injured, but the security officer suffered a hand injury, according to reports of the incident.
Lemmon told authorities he would have collected a sizable amount of money if he had gone farther on his scamper.
Fans noticed a larger number of fights in the stands than during the average game, perhaps because the opponent was the New York Jets, who attract a relatively large number of supporters.
