Mary C. Carnes, 66, a former bookkeeper and accountant, died Saturday in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home, Lewiston, after a long illness.
Born Mary Wilson in Terre Haute, Ind., she moved to Niagara Falls with her family when she was young and graduated from the former St. Mary's High School.
She then moved to Santa Monica, Calif., where she handled the financial record-keeping for a pharmaceutical company. But, missing her family, she returned here in 1979.
She was a former member of Catholic Daughters of America and of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary in North Tonawanda.
Mrs. Carnes enjoyed playing bingo, dining out and listening to music.
Survivors include a sister, Norma Jean Wilson, and a close friend, James Sullivan, both of Niagara Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary of the Cataract Catholic Church, 259 Fourth St., following prayers at 10 in Spallino-Amigone Funeral Home, 1300 Pine Ave. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
