Leslie F. Sandy, a World War II veteran and retired welder, died Saturday in Niagara Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a brief illness. He was 81.
Born in Niagara Falls, he attended city schools and served in the Army in Europe during World War II.
Mr. Sandy worked 25 years as a welder at the former Union Carbide plant, retiring in 1975.
He enjoyed hunting and was a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are his close friends Victor and Patricia Ptasnick and Nick and Peggy Dukes, all of Niagara Falls.
