DISTURBANCE AT CONCERT LEADS TO ARREST OF FIVE

Five people were arrested over the weekend after a concert in Tompkins Square Park headlined by several punk rock bands.

Police said nobody knows exactly what started the fracas, which began at about 6 p.m. Saturday, but some witnesses said bottles were thrown at police vehicles from the crowd.

A band called Leftover Crack was finishing its performance when two officers entered the crowd to make arrests. Several people turned on the officers, causing police to surround the crowd of about 250 and bring an end to the concert.
