How sweet it is! A suicidal George Steinbrenner must be sitting in his locked office with a rusted razor blade in his hand and crying, "What do I have to do to bring a championship back to New York?"
You can start by developing players, creating a positive chemistry throughout your organization, instead of buying your starting lineup every year. You can sign people who play for the love of the game. Players who play with their hearts, instead of super egos who play for nothing but their seven-figure pay checks. But, knowing the Yankees, George is going to do his offseason shopping and bring his payroll up to $250 million. Trying once again to make the best team that money can buy. That's all right, it make it even sweeter when they lose.
Personally, I think the rusted razor blade would do more to benefit baseball.
