PUBLIC MEETINGS IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES THIS WEEK

Amherst

Town Board members will meet at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the conference room of Town Hall, 5583 Main St. to discuss a proposal to settle overdue sewer fees owed by the Town of Clarence.

Buffalo

The pros and cons of creating a council-city manager form of government in Buffalo will be the focus of a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

The Common Council's Legislation Committee will hold the special meeting to get input from experts in municipal government and residents.

The hearing is expected to examine various structures for council-manager forms of government, including models that retain the elected mayor position. Several Common Council members said they have yet to be persuaded that overhauling Buffalo's form of government would improve operations.

The hearing will be held in Council Chambers on the 13th floor of City Hall.

The Hamburg Industrial Development Agency will hold a public hearing at 8 a.m. cq Tuesday in Room 7-B of Town Hall, 6100 South Park Ave., to consider Autumn View Manor's request for assistance for the proposed $9 million expansion of its facility on Southwestern Boulevard.

Lancaster

The Global Concepts Charter School Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the school, 1001 Ridge Road, to award snow plowing contracts.

Town of Tonawanda

The Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda School Board will meet at 5:45 p.m. Monday in the community room of the Philip Sheridan building, 3200 Elmwood Ave. The board is expected to go into executive session, then reconvene its public meeting at 7 p.m.
