Helen O'Connor, a City of Tonawanda homemaker, died Monday in Mount View Health Facility, Lockport, after a long illness. She was 92.

The former Helen Marohn, known to friends as "Helsie," was a lifelong resident of the City of Tonawanda. She graduated from Tonawanda High School.

Mrs. O'Connor was a devoted member of Broad Street Baptist Church in the City of Tonawanda, and an active duplicate bridge player, an activity for which she had a teaching certificate. She was also an avid card player, enjoyed darning socks and was a member of the sewing group at DeGraff Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda.

Her late husband, James C., died in 1989.

Survivors include a daughter, Jan H. Gronwall of Amherst; a son, James C. Jr. of Forney, Texas; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A private service was held Friday in the City of Tonawanda. Burial was in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.
