Daniel J. Nichols Jr. of Avon died unexpectedly Thursday in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. He was 23.
Born in Warsaw, Mr. Nichols was a graduate of Perry High School. He served with the Navy from 1999-2003, and had been working as a technician for Invisible Fencing Co.
Mr. Nichols was a member of New York Post 1132, Loyal Order of the Moose, LeRoy. He loved softball -- playing for the Race Inn team in Perry, and also enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include his wife, the former Sherri A. Krohn of Avon; a son, Daniel J. III of Avon; his mother and stepfather, JoAnn and George Crawford of Caledonia; his father and stepmother, Daniel Sr. and Kelly of East Bethany; two brothers, Bryan Hargrave of Pavilion and Jason of Atlanta; a sister, Quinn Cox of Dansville; and his grandmothers, Ann Ochal of Perry and Evelyn of LeRoy.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, 98 N. Main St., Perry.
