ART AUCTION: More than 100 works will be up for bid during the Jean MacKay Henrich Art Auction and Sale beginning at 6:30 p.m. today in Buffalo Seminary, 205 Bidwell Parkway. Proceeds will benefit the school's scholarship fund. The highlight will be a live auction of 17 paintings by Mrs. Henrich, a prolific artist who taught art and headed the art department at Buffalo Seminary from 1946 to 1979. She died two years ago. The event, which will be open to the public with $10 admission, will include the closing reception for an exhibition of photographs by Ann E. Peterson, Buffalo Seminary's 2004-05 Colby Artist.

OLEAN LIBRARY EVENT: Friends of the Olean Library will hold a reception Sunday celebrating a new schedule that includes Sunday hours of operation, renovation of the gallery and the Friends' 24 years of support. The reception is from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the gallery. As part of the event, an exhibition to open Monday will feature the works of the Olean Area/Southern Tier artists & artisans, who will be recognized during the celebration.
