Richard C. Kohler Sr., a longtime employee of Columbus McKinnon Corp., died unexpectedly Wednesday while golfing in Amherst. He was 70.
Born in Buffalo, Mr. Kohler was a longtime resident of the City of Tonawanda, where he was a 1953 graduate of Tonawanda High School.
He worked 43 years in sales at Columbus McKinnon, retiring in 1997.
Mr. Kohler was a member of Twin City Council 413, Knights of Columbus; a member and past president of the Exchange Club of the Tonawandas; and a longtime member and secretary of the Retarded Children's Camp Fund.
Survivors include his wife, the former Nira R. Lozo of the City of Tonawanda; four daughters, Mary Beth Lance of Fishers, Ind., Peggy Adornetto of Clarence, Patty Wei of East Amherst and Anne of Angola; three sons, Christopher D. of Corfu, Rick Jr. of Clarence Richard of Niagara Falls; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda.
