John J. Popielarski, of Monroe, N.C., a former Kenmore resident, died Monday in Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, N.C., after a long illness. He was 66.
Born in Buffalo, he served for four years in the Navy and was an electrical assembler at Westinghouse until the plant closed. He worked various jobs before moving to Charlotte nine years ago.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, the former Paula Westphal; four daughters, Jennifer of Wilmington, N.C., and Tracy, Kristin and Amy, all of Indian Trail, N.C.; three sisters, Elnora of Buffalo, Mary Jane of Rochester and Dorothy of Cheektowaga; and seven grandchildren.
