RESTITUTION, PROBATION SET IN RAMPAGE CASE

A Middleport man who caused injury to Niagara County Sheriff's Deputy Brian Grear on Aug. 2 was placed on five years' probation Wednesday by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza.

Lazaro A. Alfonso, 19, also has to pay $897.54 in restitution.

He pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree assault. The attack occurred after Alfonso's mother called deputies to report her son was breaking things in the home. Grear sprained his left knee in subduing Alfonso.
