A Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond J. Quinn, 92, a retired Buffalo firefighter, was offered today in Our Lady Help of Christians Chapel, Cheektowaga. Prayers were said in Urban-Amigone Funeral Home, Cheektowaga.

Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.

Quinn died Tuesday (Feb. 27, 2001) in Sisters Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Buffalo, Quinn attended Lafayette High School.

He was a city firefighter for 31 years, assigned to Engine 26 at Tonawanda Street and Progressive Avenue in Riverside before retiring in 1972.

His wife of 34 years, Marguerite Strong Quinn, died in 1976.

Quinn was a member of the 49ers Club of Buffalo and Firefighters Local 282.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Surviving are a son, Patrick R. of Cheektowaga, and two grandchildren.
