Jack Taggert, 70, a retired Erie County employee, died Monday (Feb. 26, 2001) in Hospice Buffalo, Cheektowaga, after a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of Orchard Park, Taggert was employed in the maintenance department of the Erie County Department of Parks and Recreation for 20 years. He worked in Chestnut Ridge Park.
An Air Force veteran, he served in the Korean War and was past commander of Orchard Park Post 567, American Legion. He was a fisherman and euchre player.
Taggert is survived by two daughters, Lynn Rice and Cindy Townsend, both of Florida, and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in F.E. Brown Sons Funeral Home, 6575 E. Quaker St., Orchard Park. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Orchard Park.
