Violet F. Ortolano, 67, of Attica died Saturday (Feb. 24, 2001) in Genesee Memorial Hospital, Batavia.

A native of Alden, she was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and an a bingo player and knitter.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Charles E.; two sons, Joseph of Buffalo and Charles E. Jr. of Gun Barrel City, Texas; two daughters, Mary Hecht of Darien and Edna Robles of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; her father, Arthur F. Straub of Attica; two brothers, Arthur Straub of Attica and Andy Straub of California; two sisters, Frances Hackett and Connie Boundy, both of Alexander; and three grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 50 East Ave. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
