Santa Castilone, 96, of Buffalo, who owned and operated a beauty salon, died Wednesday (Feb. 21, 2001) in Millard Fillmore Hospital.
The lifelong Buffalo resident opened the Marabella Beauty Shop on the West Side in the 1930s. From 1939 to 1979, the shop was at Elmwood and West Utica. She retired in 1979.
She was a member of the Ladies Guild of Our Lady of Loretto Church and was a member of its board. She also was on the committee that ran the bingo concession for many years at the church and was a captain for the 300 Club there. She also worked on the committee for the parish's annual St. Joseph Day dinner for many years.
She loved traveling, needle work and baking.
She is survived by four sisters, Rose Siniard and Louise Curto, both of San Diego, Calif., Carolyn Biondo of Amherst, and Josephine Torchia of LaMesa, Calif., and a brother, Russell of Clarence.
Prayers will be said at 8:45 a.m. Monday in Amigone Funeral Home, 1132 Delaware Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Our Lady of Loretto Church, 172 Fifteenth St. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
