A memorial service for Helen B. Gerber was held today in Calvary Episcopal Church, Williamsville. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Gerber, a longtime legal secretary and Williamsville resident, died Monday (Feb. 19, 2001) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a brief illness. She was 92.
Born Helen Brossman in Randolph and educated there, she came to Buffalo in the 1930s and began working as a legal secretary in the Buffalo patent firm of Bean, Brooks, Buckley and Bean.
In 1958, she became the legal secretary for Frank G. Raichle, the Buffalo trial lawyer of Raichle, Banning, Weiss & Halpern. She served in that capacity until retiring in 1982.
Mrs. Gerber also taught Sunday school at Calvary Episcopal Church.
She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, reading and gardening.
