John Wanca of Fort Pierce, N.J., who spent most of his life in the Buffalo area, died Sunday (Feb. 18, 2001) in Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Jersey City, N.J. He was 68.
Wanca was a retired Conrail switchman and an Army veteran.
Survivors include four sons, Michael of Buffalo, John of Glendale, Ariz., John Paul of Fanwood, N.J., and Edward of Chandler, Ariz.; a daughter, Christina of Fanwood; his mother, Nellie of Forked River, N.J.; and two sisters, Mary and Nancy, both of Forked River.
A private service will be held in Fort Pierce.
