Elizabeth H. Then of Cheektowaga died Saturday (Feb. 17, 2001) in Sisters Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 82.
Born Elizabeth Foley in Buffalo, she graduated from Kensington High School and worked as a sales clerk for Sears, Roebuck & Co. before her marriage.
She was a member of the Auxiliary of Post 64, American Legion, and the Altar and Rosary Society of Infant of Prague Catholic Church. She was a longtime volunteer for Veterans Hospital, the Kidney Foundation and Children's Hospital.
A voracious reader of history, Mrs. Then also enjoyed cooking and baking.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Edward P. Jr.; two daughters, Kathleen Lilley of Orchard Park and Linda of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, James Foley of Clearwater, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday in Infant of Prague Church, 921 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga. Prayers will be said at 10:30 in Amigone Funeral Home, 569 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
