Rita K. Lombardo, 84, of Williamsville, an active member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, died Saturday (Feb. 17, 2001) in Millard Fillmore Hospital. She was 84.
The former Rita Meyer was a homemaker. She was a Eucharistic minister and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Mission Renewal, the Ministry of Praise, Respect Life and the Bereavement Committee at St. Leo's.
She also participated in small Bible groups, was a vocation and prayer minister with the Society of St. Monica and was an affiliate promoter of the Society of Mary since 1963.
Her husband 52 years, Emelius, died in 1991.
Survivors include a daughter, Christine M. of Williamsville, and two sons, Gerard of Buffalo and Paul of Winston-Salem, N.C.
Prayers will be said at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Amherst, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. Leo the Great Church, 885 Sweet Home Road, Amherst. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
