John R. Pietrobono, 51, a bartender, died Wednesday (Feb. 14, 2001) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness.
Pietrobono, known as "Bono," was born in Niagara Falls and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School in 1968.
He tended bar for 25 years at East Pete's on Pine Avenue, and most recently was working at Jake's Bar.
Pietrobono enjoyed bowling and was a fan of the New York Yankees.
He is survived by his mother, Dorthea Gee of Niagara Falls; his brother, Philip of Niagara Falls; two sisters, Deborah Schlegel of Sylmar, Calif., and Michelle Shown of Hickory, N.C.; his grandmother, Doris Smiech of Lockport; and his longtime companion, Judy Alexis of Niagara Falls.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 3806 Pine Ave., to be followed by burial there.
