Ethel H. DeAmesy, 86, a retired secretary, died Thursday (Feb. 15, 2001) in her Warsaw home after a lengthy illness.

Born Ethel Hess in Deerfield, she worked as a secretary for the superintendent of schools of the First Supervisory District of Oneida County and later was secretary to the treasurer of Utica College. After moving to Warsaw many years ago, she worked as a part-time library clerk at Warsaw Central School.

She was a member of the Warsaw Monday Club and the Warsaw Historical Society.

Active in First United Methodist Church of Warsaw, she was a member of the church's Mission Circle and the United Methodist Women. She was a Sunday school teacher for more than 50 years.

She and her husband, James, an agricultural teacher, were married for 45 years. He died in 1999.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland.
