A federal judge has ruled against former "Baywatch" star Jose Solano Jr., who claimes Playgirl magazine tarnished his image.
Solano, 29, sued after a picture of him shirtless and in swim trunks appeared on the cover of Playgirl's January 1999 issue. Solano claimed the photos, purchased from photo stock houses, were an invasion of his privacy.
"Undoubtedly, plaintiff is unhappy and embarrassed about the appearance of his picture in Playgirl, and this court sympathizes with his feelings," U.S. District Judge Dickran Tevrizian wrote in his ruling. "However, his dislike of the manner in which he is portrayed or the magazine in which his picture is reproduced . . . do not provide a basis for the claims he asserts."
