WRONG-WAY DRIVER KILLS HERSELF, MAN

A Buffalo woman and an Angola man were killed Tuesday night when the woman drove her station wagon the wrong way over the Skyway and struck the other vehicle head-on, authorities said.

Christine Mills, 48, of Burke Drive had a disagreement with her boyfriend before driving her 1993 Subaru wagon southbound onto the northbound lanes leading to the Skyway in downtown Buffalo at 9:30 p.m., police said.

Anthony G. Wisiorek, 20, of Orchard Avenue, Angola, was identified as the driver of the 1990 Chrysler LeBaron. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Christina Kish, 19, of Heatherwood Drive, Hamburg, was listed in critical condition Wednesday in Erie County Medical Center.

"We have a belief that the accident may be alcohol-related, and we'll have confirmation on that in a day or two when the toxicology report is completed," said Lt. Robert J. Penders, commander of the Buffalo Police Department's Accident Investigation Unit.

From all indications, Wisiorek, according to Accident Investigator Paul F. Sullivan, was driving properly in the northbound lanes as he approached the Skyway, when the crash occurred.

"Mills was involved in a disagreement with her boyfriend," Penders said. "She apparently got on the Skyway the wrong way around Church Street."
