CHURCH IS LOSING SIGHT OF WHAT'S IMPORTANT

I read with disbelief The News article from Boston, Mass., about the Catholic Church's refusal to substitute a rice communion host for the traditional wheat one for a child who has celiac disease.

Has the Catholic Church moved so far from the teachings of Jesus that it would deny an ill child the chance to receive a sacrament? I am certain that when Jesus said "do this in memory of me," he was using a bread more similar to pita than the uniform round wafer used today.

It appears that the Catholic Church views 2,000 years of tradition as more important than the true intentions of its founder.
