Rose Marie Dixson, 95, a former Niagara Falls resident, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 2001) in Northgate Manor Healthcare Facility, North Tonawanda, after a long illness.
Born Rose Marie Nolan in Pennsylvania, she was raised in Niagara Falls.
She owned Rosemary Bakery and also worked at Beir Bros. department store and Elbe's Jewelry during the 1940s.
Mrs. Dixson was a member of St. Mary's of the Cataract Mothers Club and Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America, Catholic Council of Mothers Clubs and St. Francis Guild of St. Mary's Hospital. She also served as a volunteer at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital.
She and her husband, Joseph B. Sr., moved to Florida in 1973 and then returned to Niagara Falls 1987. He died in 1986.
Survivors include a son, Jay B. of the Town of Niagara; three daughters, Carol Hickey of Barker, Sharon Truex of Buffalo and Sandra M. of Niagara Falls; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
