Robert W. Schneider, 64, a retired industrial manager, died unexpectedly Sunday (Feb. 11, 2001) in his Williamsville home, apparently of a stroke.
A 35-year employee of Union Carbide Corp. in the Town of Tonawanda, he retired in 1996 as the company's marketing manager.
Born in Buffalo, Schneider grew up in the Swormville area of Amherst. He was a graduate of St. Mary's School in Swormville, Clarence High School and the University of Buffalo.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Swormville, and formerly served in the Navy Reserve. He was an avid woodworker and golfer and loved walking and going to movies.
Schneider is survived by his former wife, Audrey Valentic of Williamsville; a daughter, Susan L. Snyder of East Amherst; a son, Robert M. of Richmond, Ind.; and six grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Church, 6919 Transit Road, Swormville. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
