Samuel Azzarella, 86, of Buffalo, a retired postal clerk, died Friday (Feb. 9, 2001) in Erie County Medical Center after a long illness.
A native of Irving, Azzarella was a graduate of Silver Creek High School. He lived in the Buffalo area for 60 years.
He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and its Ushers Club and served as president of the Holy Name Society. He also was a member of the National Guard and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Claire; two sisters, Ann Young of Arizona and Jennie Wagner of Kenmore; and a brother, James of Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today in Holy Spirit Church. Entombment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
