in Hinsdale mobile home
HINSDALE -- A teenager was rescued Sunday from an accidental fire that destroyed his mobile home at Winchester Estates Trailer Park on Route 16.
The Cattaraugus County Fire Investigation Team and state police are jointly continuing an investigation of the fire reported shortly after 9 a.m. at a mobile home owned by Sally A. Gooley.
Ronald Gooley, 14, was rescued by firefighters and neighbors and taken to Olean General Hospital and later to Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, where he was listed in critical condition later Sunday.
Firefighters from Hinsdale, Town of Olean and Allegany responded to the fire and determined the mobile home was a total loss. State police are conducting some laboratory tests to determine the exact cause of the fire, which they said appears to be accidental.
Sally Gooley and another son, Justin, 11, are staying with relatives and were not injured.
