I often wonder why so many smokers feel the need to make our streets their personal ashtrays. Smokers drop their cigarette butts wherever they sit or stand. When driving in their cars, many smokers toss their cigarette butts out the window instead of using their ashtray. The ashtray seems only to serve as a place to hold spare change.
Cigarette butts are not easily biodegradable, therefore they lay wherever they are strewn until somebody else picks them up. Our neighborhood streets, parking lots and sidewalks would be much cleaner if smokers would place their butts in the proper place.
