PRISON HAS EVERY RIGHT TO RESTRICT TV VIEWING

The recent News editorial commenting on Sheriff Joseph Gerace's stand on the treatment of Chautauqua County Jail prisoners suggests that people legally judged to be guilty should not be restricted in their mental thought processes or physical image.

I believe The News and others on this same "railroad" are entirely too liberal in their thought process. Is society only willing to restrict a person for a period of time without attempting to change his or her personal behavior to more nearly conform to the needs of the greater society?

I find it utterly ridiculous to object to the prison garb and the restricted TV programming ordered by Gerace. One has only to scan current TV programming to see why our young people in their formative years are being misled as to the true meaning of a creative, useful lifestyle.
