George K. Bowne, a former security guard, died Wednesday (Feb. 7, 2001) in Millard Fillmore Hospital, Buffalo, after a brief illness. He was 52.
Bowne was born in Washington, D.C., and attended schools there.
He worked for Luskins Security in Maryland as a guard.
Bowne came to Niagara Falls in 1995 and had been a member of LaSalle Baptist Church, where he was an usher, a chairman for the Lord's Supper event and served on the Baptism Committee.
He enjoyed playing cards and board games and listening to Christian music.
Bowne is survived by his wife, the former Patricia C. Bender of Niagara Falls; two sons, John Armstrong and Erle Armstrong, both of Connecticut; two daughters, Mary Armstrong of Niagara Falls and Sherry Armstrong of Lewiston; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
