Pitcher Pam Amabile will be inducted into the Metro Buffalo ASA/USA Softball Hall of Fame on Feb. 17 at the Radisson Hotel, 4243 Genesee St., Cheektowaga. Her name also will be placed in honor at the National Softball Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City. Amabile was a first-team All-American at Erie Community College in 1979 and later signed with Indiana University.

Dot Richardson, two-time Olympic gold medalist, will be the guest speaker at the dinner, which also will honor Andre Martinelli Sr. (umpire of the year), Buck Buchanan (state umpire award), Brianna Prince (comeback courage award) and Larry Bynum and Frank Ciaramella (service awards). Tickets, at $35 each, are available from Kevin Walkowski (626-5809).

BASEBALL: The West Seneca Youth Baseball Association will hold registration from 1-4 p.m. Feb. 24-25 and from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Kiwanis Youth Center, 50 Legion Parkway, West Seneca. SOFTBALL: Registration for the Cheektowaga adult programs will be held from Feb. 26 to March 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Stiglmeier Park Community Center, 810 Losson Road.
