The following companies have announced product recalls and remedies: Company: Playskool.

Product: About 12,500 Busy School Bus toys.

Reason: Some of the toy buses have a yellow awning piece that can break loose, posing a choking hazard to young children.

I.D.: The Busy School Bus toy is an 8 1/2 -inch-long, yellow plastic school bus-shaped toy with a carry handle and blue wheels. The bus toys being recalled have the item number 5527, with date codes 91671 through 91883 on the bottom of the toy.

Remedy: Take the toys away from young children immediately and call Playskool toll-free at (888) 510-1561 to receive a free toy of equal value.

Company: Carter's.

Product: About 600,000 infant jumpsuits.

Reason: A ribbon through the zipper pull tab can detach, posing a choking hazard.

I.D.: Recalled jumpsuits have a 6-inch-long satin ribbon tied through the zipper pull tab. The ribbons are solid in color or have "Carter's" printed on them. The jumpsuits, sold in sizes up to 6 to 9 months, have a teddy bear, bunny or puppy embroidery design on the front. Sold from May through December 2000 at outlet, department and specialty stores nationwide for $14 to $20.

Remedy: Remove and discard the ribbon. The garment can be worn without the ribbon. For information, call Carter's toll-free at (888) 339-2129.
