HSBC Bank USA will collect donations at all its branches for the victims of the Jan. 26 earthquake in India.

The bank is accepting cash or check donations that it will forward to the American Red Cross. At 7.9 on the Richter scale, the earthquake was India's worst in at least half a century.

People may also send contributions directly to the American Red Cross, India Disaster Relief Fund, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013. Donations can also be made by calling (800) 435-7669 or Internet users can make a secure online credit card contribution by visiting and choosing India Disaster Relief Fund.
