Actress Tea Leoni, who stars as a down-to-earth mother in "The Family Man," says her own experience caring for a child has been somewhat more harried.
"I think I was caught off guard by the worry," Leoni said in an interview in Sunday's Newsday. "I remember saying to my mom, 'I don't know if I'll ever sleep deeply again.'"
Leoni, wife of "X-Files" star David Duchovny, gained 60 pounds while pregnant with her daughter Madeleine, now almost 2, and savored every calorie.
"I enjoyed every burger along the way," Leoni said. "Before the pregnancy, I was always appreciative of McDonald's and Burger King. I felt that, really, the people who know anything about food know that's delicious."
Leoni also joked about Duchovny's skill at shirking the more practical chores that go along with raising a child.
"Oh, my God, David. It's just the dexterity issue with men. I personally haven't found changing a diaper particularly challenging. But he's such a guy. Thankfully she's almost out of diapers," Leoni said.
