HANOVER -- An early-morning blaze Monday destroyed a cottage on Muriel Road in Sunset Bay.
Sunset Bay Fire Chief Kevin Weiskerger said the alarm was called in at about 3:30 a.m.
"We found the cottage fully involved, (with) the fire already well through the roof," said Weiskerger, who added that additional manpower was called in from Hanover Center, Irving and Silver Creek.
He said firefighters controlled the blaze in about half an hour and were at the scene for about three hours. The owner's name was not available. The cause is under investigation.
Little Valley man faces
DWI charge, other counts
SALAMANCA -- A Little Valley man was charged with driving while intoxicated Sunday in Salamanca by Cattaraugus County sheriff's deputies.
Keith R. Lore, 29, of Whig Street is to be in City Court Wednesday to answer charges of DWI, speeding and driving on the wrong side of West State Street, where deputies said they observed him shortly before 1 a.m.
Hamburg driver, 43, charged
with possession of cocaine
A Hamburg man who was stopped on Route 219 Monday for having a bad muffler now faces more serious charges, after an Orchard Park police officer found five small bags of crack cocaine in the man's possession, police said.
Officer Pat Rizzo charged Paul M. Senseney, 43, of Prospect Avenue, with felony drug possession and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, after the traffic stop at about 3 a.m.
Chautauqua County adds
three to its Wanted List
MAYVILLE -- Three people have been added to Chautauqua County's Most Wanted List this week, including two wanted in Jamestown on drug-related charges.
According to sheriff's deputies, Arlene Eichelberger, 26, of McClure Street, Westfield, and Josie B. Glover, 19, of Crossman Street, Jamestown, are sought for failure to appear in the city's Drug Court. In addition, Norman I. Geddis, 31, of Townsend Road, Dunkirk, is wanted on a Family Court support warrant.
Anyone with information on any person on the Wanted List is asked to contact the Sheriff's Department.
Man on Most Wanted List
in Cattaraugus arrested
LITTLE VALLEY -- Cattaraugus County Sheriff Ernest J. Dustman announced the arrest of a man added to the Ten Most Wanted List Jan. 25.
Michael P. Kelley, 39, was arrested by Town of Tonawanda police without incident and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail without bail. Kelly was wanted on a charge of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He had previously lived in Allegany.
Aluminum siding of house
vandalized; loss put at $500
NIAGARA FALLS -- Vandals caused more than $500 damage to the aluminum siding on a 22nd Street residence during the early morning hours Monday, police said.
Homeowner John Lee reported that a hole was broken into the aluminum siding at the corner of his home and that a sticky substance was thrown on the rear of the house. Police said they had no suspects.
