Marian E. Williams, 91, a retired secretary at the University at Buffalo, died Friday (Feb. 2, 2001) in Brothers of Mercy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clarence, after a brief illness.
Born Marian Johnson in Dunkirk, she was a secretary in the UB School of Social Work for 15 years, retiring in 1979.
She enjoyed auto racing, theater, reading, duplicate bridge and travel.
Her three sons were veterans, two serving in the Vietnam War.
Her husband, Thomas J. Sr., died in 1966.
Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn A. Holland of Bryn Mawr, Pa.; three sons, Thomas J. Jr. of San Diego, Terrance M. of Kenmore and Ronald D. of Lancaster; two sisters, Laura Tozer and Jeannette Wiede, both of Getzville; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's University Catholic Church, 3275 Main St., after prayers at 10 in Dengler Funeral Home, 2070 Eggert Road, Amherst. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna.
