Loretta M. Porter, 88, a former Medina resident who moved to Zephyrhills, Fla., in 1984, died Wednesday (Jan. 31, 2001) in Heritage Park Specialty Care Center, Dade City, Fla., after a long illness.
Born Loretta Weiler in Waterport, she grew up in Corfu, where she graduated from high school. She lived there until she and her husband moved to Medina in 1946.
She attended a music school in Buffalo after graduating from high school and played the piano in her home.
Mrs. Porter was a member of United Methodist Church of Medina. She shared her husband's interest in amateur radio and was a member of the Tri-County Radio Club.
Her husband of 58 years, Mark B., died in 1995.
Survivors include a son, Byron J. of Holley; a brother, Austin Weiler of Holiday, Fla.; a sister, Thelma Lewis of Weirton, W.Va.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Bates-Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
