Carmella M. Ziembo, 82, a retired Nabisco retail outlet store clerk, died Saturday (Feb. 3, 2001) in McAuley Residence, Town of Tonawanda, after a lengthy illness.
She was born Carmella M. Bevilacqua in Buffalo and graduated from St. Mary's High School.
During the late 1930s, Mrs. Ziembo worked as a window dresser at Morrison's women's clothing store. She was a Nabisco retail outlet store clerk for 25 years.
She retired in 1983. That same year, she took a part-time clerk position with Yellow Goose Market. She moved to Amherst in 1990 and lived there until three months ago when she moved to the Town of Tonawanda.
She was a member of St. Christopher's Catholic Church and was the Sunshine Girl at Peppertree Heights apartment complex, where she resided from 1990 to 2000.
Mrs. Ziembo is survived by a daughter, Emily Geartz of Lockport; a son, Emil of Lancaster; a sister, Mary Voit of Cheektowaga; a brother, Alfonso of Banning, Calif.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Christopher's Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda, after prayers at 8:45 in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
