NEW YORK'S ICEWINE IS TASTY, BETTER VALUE

I was disappointed by Janice Okun's article on icewine. She went on at length about icewine produced by Canadian wineries, but only mentioned in passing that it is also produced in New York State. This icewine is equal, if not superior in quality, to its Canadian counterpart. It is also a far better value, averaging about $20 a bottle, as opposed to the Canadian version at $50 to $80 a bottle. Also, buying New York State wine helps the state economy and supports small, family-owned businesses.
