IT'S EASY TO SEE WHY AUDIENCE WAS CHEERING

Buffalo News critic Richard Huntington again has done Buffalo a disservice by attempting to turn people away from a fun evening. In his review of Tom Dulack's "Breaking Legs" in Studio Arena Theatre, Huntington questioned the audience's overwhelming enthusiasm for the performance in the form of a standing ovation. He "couldn't figure out what these people were whooping about."

I attended the performance on a different night, and the audience also gave the performers a standing ovation. "These people" had fun. Huntington must be thick-skinned to have sat there while the entire house stood in appreciation of a fantastic show, or he must just enjoy the satisfaction he receives showing how ignorant everyone else is when it comes to theater.
