Bridge Information Systems, a provider of financial data and news, said Thursday that one of its creditors has filed a court petition seeking to have the company declared bankrupt. Bridge spokesman Joel Weiden said it was unclear whether the company would seek to have the petition dismissed or converted into a voluntary Chapter 11 filing, which would allow Bridge to continue operating while it seeks to reorganize.

Cablevision Systems Corp. is selling a 20 percent stake in its four main cable networks -- American Movie Classics, Bravo, The Independent Film Channel and WE: Women's Entertainment -- to the Hollywood studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer for $825 million.
