CLIFFORD G. SEIBOLD, PLUMBER, BUSINESSMAN

Clifford G. Seibold, 66, of Hamburg, a former plumber and businessman, died unexpectedly Tuesday (Jan. 30, 2001) after surgery in Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

A journeyman plumber, Seibold was born in Buffalo. For more than 25 years, he was a member of Plumbers Local 36 and worked on numerous commercial and industrial construction projects.

From 1980 to 1990, he managed Orchard Park Plaza, including Orchard Park Liquor Store, at 4110 N. Buffalo St., Orchard Park.

He went into semiretirement in 1990 but periodically practiced the plumbing trade.

An Army veteran, Seibold served in Korea from 1958 through 1960.

He was active in the Orchard Park Lions Club, the Orchard Park Chamber of Commerce and the Friends of the Erie County Fair, a volunteer group that helps at the fair. He was president of the Eagle Crest Homeowners Association.

He enjoyed camping in Allegany State Park with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Louise Hector Seibold; a son, Gary of Amherst; a daughter, Karen Ercolano of East Aurora; two brothers, Bruce of Jersey City, N.J., and Paul of Williamsville; a sister, Barbara Buczkowski of Derby; his stepmother, Alice Sidowski Seibold of Cheektowaga; and four grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Wood Funeral Home, 784 Main St., East Aurora.
