A suspended officer of a non-profit community organization is in the Chautauqua County Jail after arraignment on four counts each of third-degree forgery and possession of a forged instrument.
Police reported Friday that William M. Dybeck, 51, of East Second Street was arrested last week at the Ruggles Street headquarters of Community Christmas/Sharing with Children. President Chester Kozlowski had reported that several business checks were missing from the organization. Police said the investigation led to Dybeck.
The amount of money involved has not been made public.
City Court Judge Walter Drag set bail at $4,000 cash or $8,000 property bond. All charges are misdemeanors, police said.
