An exhibit of more than 500 Oaxacan carvings will open Friday in East Aurora as part of a Mexican folk art exhibit.
The Wyoming Trading Company will play host to the free exhibit at 667 Main St., across from the store. Oaxacan carvings come from the southern regions of Mexico, and each carving is signed by the artist.
The exhibit will also feature other handmade items from that region of Mexico, including Zapotec Indian rugs and pillows. Books and literature about the carvings will also be available.
The exhibit will run through Oct. 10, with hours of 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays and noon-5 p.m. on Sundays.
