Elizabeth E. Dates, a retired buyer for the former department store The Sample, died Sunday (Sept. 26, 1999) in Kenmore Mercy Hospital, Town of Tonawanda, after a brief illness. She was 83.
The former Elizabeth Westcott was born in Hartland and lived on Cottonwood Drive in Amherst.
She retired as a buyer for The Sample in 1984.
Her husband, Lynn, died in 1984.
Survivors include two sons, Gary of Texas City, Texas, and James of Williamsville; a daughter, Ann Conrad of Wheatfield; two brothers, Roy Westcott of Lockport and Charles Westcott of Port Charlotte, Fla.; a sister, Mary Jane Parker of Liverpool; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services were held today. Burial was in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.
