A Medina man suffered a head injury Tuesday when he fell asleep while driving a flatbed truck which overturned and spilled its cargo of soybeans onto Lake Road, Sheriff's Deputy Paul J. Moran said.

Mark R. Dunham, 38, of Knowlesville Road, who was pinned inside, was taken to Inter-Community Memorial Hospital, Newfane, after volunteer firefighters cut him free. He was released after treatment, a hospital official said.

The accident occurred at 1:17 p.m when Dunham said he he momentarily fell asleep at the wheel of his 10-wheeler, Moran said.
